Metropolitan Kansas City is served by a number of separate public school districts and an array of private institutions. There are over a dozen higher education and advanced degree programs in the Kansas City area.
MISSOURI SIDE SCHOOLS Residents living on the Missouri side of the state line are served by the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District. They have been recognized for excellence by the United States Department of Education because of results on state administered testing programs and consistently rank among the best public schools systems in the country.
